Short-run sale graphics
Promotional Window Decals for Sales and Campaigns
Promotional window decals are quick, short-run graphics for sales, launches, seasonal offers and event messages. They are designed to go on fast, look sharp for the duration of the promotion and come off cleanly afterwards.
If you change your message every few weeks, this is the service to choose rather than a permanent shopfront treatment.
- Fast to apply
- Clean removal planned in
- Sale and seasonal messages
- Repeat campaigns, one template

Where promotional decals work best
Decals earn their place wherever a message has a start and an end date.
- Sale and clearance periods, where the percentage or offer needs to be seen from the pavement
- Product launches and new-range announcements
- Seasonal campaigns such as festive, back-to-school and Mother's Day
- Opening-soon, now-open and relocation notices
- Event and loyalty promotions for restaurants, gyms and salons
- Franchise and multi-store campaigns that must look the same in every window
For brand-level glass that is meant to stay up for the long term, retail window graphics are specified differently and use longer-life materials.
Design options
- Die-cut shapes and lettering: offer text, starbursts and arrows cut to shape, with no background film.
- Printed decals: full-colour product photography and offers, cut around the edge or supplied as rectangles.
- Static-cling style panels: suitable for smooth glass where you want to reposition or reuse the graphic. Suitability depends on the glass and conditions, which we check.
- Poster-style window panels: larger printed sheets for the main display pane.
- Modular campaign sets: a fixed layout where only the headline or price changes from one campaign to the next, so each refresh costs less.
Decide first whether the decal goes inside or outside. Inside-applied decals are protected from weather. Outside-applied decals suit glass with internal film or heavy tint.
Materials and finishes
For short-run work we select vinyl with a removable or clean-release adhesive, rather than the permanent grades used for long-term graphics. Printed decals are usually laminated for scuff protection, and the laminate is matched to the vinyl so edges stay flat. Finishes include gloss, matt, translucent and metallic cut vinyl. The right material depends on how long the promotion will run and how much sun the glass receives, so tell us the expected duration in your brief.
Visibility and lighting
Promotional decals are not lit. They depend on shop lighting behind the glass and on contrast with the interior. Bold colours and large, simple offer text work best. If your promotion needs to be seen after dark from a distance, consider adding an LED lightbox for the headline offer and keeping the decals for supporting detail.
How it compares with related options
- Choose promotional decals when the message will change within weeks or months and clean removal is a priority.
- Choose retail window graphics when you want a longer-life brand treatment, one-way vision film or full-pane artwork.
- Choose point-of-sale signs for inside the store, where shoppers are already in front of the product.
- Choose floor graphics when you want the offer to lead people toward a display or till point.
- Choose a pop-up signage package when the whole store, not just the glass, is temporary.
Technical considerations
- Viewing distance and size: as a rough guide, many designers allow around 25 mm of letter height per 10 m of viewing distance. A decal read from the pavement can be smaller than one read from across a parking area. We confirm on site.
- Contrast: light text on a bright interior can vanish. We look at what is behind each pane.
- Surface condition: glass must be clean, dry and in reasonable condition for decals to hold and release properly.
- Sun and heat: long exposure can affect adhesive release, so we choose material to match the planned duration.
- Removal plan: we agree how and when decals come off, so the next campaign can go on without damage to the glass.
- Landlord rules: some centres limit how much glass can be covered by promotional material. These rules are checked during the survey and may involve the landlord or body corporate.
What affects the price
- Number of decals and total area covered
- Die-cut versus printed, and number of colours
- Material grade and laminate
- Whether artwork is a repeat template or a new design each time
- Number of stores in a rollout
- Installation and removal visits, including out-of-hours work
- Turnaround required; urgent jobs depend on current workload and are confirmed at quote
Care and maintenance
Wipe decals gently with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scraping near edges. Check corners during the campaign and report lifting early so we can reseat or replace. At the end of the promotion, peel slowly at a low angle; stubborn residue is best handled by our team with a suitable adhesive remover rather than a blade. Our removal service can handle a whole store at once.

Frequently asked questions
Will promotional decals leave residue on the glass?
Material is chosen to release cleanly when used within its intended duration on suitable glass. Heat, long exposure and glass condition affect this, so we confirm the plan at quote stage.
Can I reuse a decal for the next sale?
Static-cling style panels can sometimes be reused on smooth glass; adhesive decals are normally single-use. We recommend based on your conditions.
Can you apply decals on both sides of a window?
Yes, where you want a different message inside and outside. We plan the artwork so nothing clashes.
How do I handle the same promotion in many stores?
We prepare one artwork set and size it for each store from survey measurements. See multi-branch retail branding.
Do I need centre approval for promotional decals?
Some managed centres ask for sign-off. We check this at survey and can supply a proof for your landlord.
