Venue signage

Conference and Training Room Signage That Guides Delegates

Delegates arrive unsure of where to go, and venue staff need to change what is on the door between events. Conference and training room signage covers room names, session or schedule holders, directional signs and branded graphics that make the venue feel organised.

It suits hotels, conference centres, corporate training academies and offices with several event rooms.

  • Clear room identification
  • Changeable session info
  • Matches venue branding
  • Quick to update
Conference and Training Room Signage That Guides Delegates

Where it works best

  • Dedicated conference centres with several halls or breakaway rooms.
  • Corporate training academies and learning centres.
  • Hotels and lodges with event wings.
  • Offices with a boardroom, training room and open-plan event space.
  • Municipal and government venues used for workshops.

The common thread is turnover: room names are permanent, but the event on the door changes weekly or daily.

Design options

  • Room name plates: permanent name or number beside or on the door, see Office Door Signs.
  • Slide-in schedule holders: a frame with a window for a printed card showing the current event, similar to Meeting Room Signs.
  • Projecting or overhead signs: visible from the corridor so delegates see the room from afar, see Projecting and Hanging Signs.
  • Directional signs: from reception to each wing, with arrows and room ranges.
  • Branded graphics: printed vinyl or acrylic with training programme branding for walls and glass, see Office Wall Graphics.

Where electronic booking is used, we can discuss mounting space for digital room displays, subject to technical assessment and the supplier's availability.

Materials and finishes

  • Brushed aluminium or stainless: clean, professional room plates.
  • Acrylic: clear, frosted or coloured, with printed or cut vinyl text.
  • Anodised or powder-coated frames: for slide-in holders.
  • Printed vinyl and laminate: for large wall graphics.
  • Wood-look or composite panels: for warmer hospitality-style interiors.

Lighting

Most conference signage is unlit because corridors and rooms already have lighting. Where a hall entrance needs a statement, a lit logo or lettering can be added, see Illuminated Reception Logos. Backlit panels can suit large foyers, but they are optional and need a power source.

How it compares with related options

Technical considerations

  • Reading distance: corridor signs are read at 2 to 5 m; a rough guide is around 25 mm of letter height per 10 m, but we size on site.
  • Contrast and accessibility: strong contrast and, where required, raised text and Braille, see Accessible and Tactile Signs.
  • Mounting surface: glass, drywall, brick and timber all need different fixing methods; we check at survey.
  • Cards and inserts: design holder sizes around the paper size your team prints on.
  • Fire and safety: signs must not obstruct exit routes or safety signs.
  • Approvals: landlord or body-corporate consent may be needed; we check this at the survey and design stage.

What affects the price

  • Number of rooms and sign types.
  • Material choice: acrylic versus metal plates.
  • Holder type and whether inserts are supplied.
  • Size and number of branded wall graphics.
  • Whether any lit elements are included.
  • Mounting surfaces and installation complexity.

Care and maintenance

Wipe with a soft damp cloth; avoid solvent cleaners on acrylic and printed faces. Replace worn inserts rather than taping over them. Keep a spare set of cards or inserts printed with your template. For bigger sites we can set up scheduled maintenance.
