Full vehicle wraps
Full Car Wraps for Branding and Colour Change
A full car wrap covers the painted body panels in vinyl film, either printed with your branding or in a solid colour or finish. It turns a vehicle into a complete brand statement, or changes its colour without a respray.
It suits businesses with a showpiece vehicle, owners wanting a colour change, and fleets that need every unit to look identical.
- Printed or solid colour
- Complete body coverage
- Brand-accurate artwork
- Planned to your model

Where full wraps work best
A full wrap makes the most sense when the vehicle itself is part of the marketing.
- Company cars, sales vehicles and executive vehicles
- Delivery vans and light commercial vehicles that run daily routes
- Food trucks, mobile shops and promotional vehicles
- Launch campaigns and event vehicles
- Personal colour changes in gloss, satin, matt or metallic finishes
- Fleets where a uniform look matters
If the budget or the vehicle does not suit full coverage, a partial wrap or lettering and decals may be enough.
Design options
Full wraps come in two broad styles.
- Printed wraps: custom artwork, photography and brand graphics printed on wrap film and often protected with a laminate.
- Colour-change wraps: solid colour films in gloss, satin, matt, metallic, carbon-effect and other finishes.
- Hybrid designs: a colour-change base with printed or cut-vinyl logos and contact details on top.
Design considerations include how the artwork flows over doors, bumpers and panel gaps, where logos fall on curves, and how the vehicle looks from the rear and sides, where most people see it in traffic. We create visuals on your vehicle model before printing.
Parts such as door handles, mirrors, lights and badges are removed or wrapped around depending on the vehicle and the finish you want.
Materials and finishes
Quality films matter on a full wrap because they must stretch into recesses and over curves.
- Cast wrap vinyl: a conformable film suited to complex curves.
- Print-and-laminate systems: a printed film with a clear laminate in gloss, satin or matt for scratch resistance and colour depth.
- Colour-change films: solid colours in a range of finishes.
- Reflective and specialty films: for particular applications, see Reflective Vehicle Graphics.
Finish and film choice affect how the wrap looks and how it is cared for. We advise on the right film for your vehicle and use.
Lighting and visibility
Wraps are not lit, but visibility still matters. Gloss finishes lift colour in sunlight, matt can look subtle and premium, and reflective sections can make key panels more visible at night. Lighting and reflectors on the vehicle must stay uncovered and legal, so we plan the wrap around them.
How full wraps compare with related options
Choose a full car wrap for maximum impact or a colour change. For other needs:
- Partial Vehicle Wraps brand key panels for less coverage and a lower cost.
- Vehicle Lettering and Decals suit logos and contact details on existing paint.
- Bakkie Branding and Delivery Van Branding are tailored to those body shapes.
- Fleet Branding and Rollouts manage many vehicles consistently.
- Vehicle Branding Removal handles taking a wrap off.

Technical considerations
Paint condition. Vinyl should go onto sound, original-quality paint. Flaking paint, rust and poor respray work can lift with the film, so we inspect the vehicle first.
Surface preparation. The vehicle is washed and decontaminated, and joins and edges are planned. Vehicle design affects how much stretch and relief cut is needed.
Heat and sun. Dark and matt films behave differently in heat. Parking in shade helps any wrap look better for longer.
Vehicle time off the road. A full wrap needs the vehicle on site for a period that depends on size and complexity. We discuss scheduling with you.
Legal and registration. Colour changes may need to be reflected on vehicle registration documents, and certain markings on commercial vehicles may be regulated. Check requirements with the relevant authority, and tell us about any restrictions.
What affects the price
- Vehicle size and the number of panels
- Complexity of curves, recesses and bumpers
- Printed artwork versus solid colour film
- Film brand, finish and laminate
- Design time and revisions
- Removal of old graphics and surface preparation
- Door handles, mirrors and trim removal
- Number of vehicles in a fleet

Care and maintenance
Hand wash with a soft mitt and pH-neutral shampoo, and avoid high-pressure jets at edges and seams. Avoid abrasive polishes and harsh solvents, and do not use automatic brush washes on a new wrap. Matt and satin films need dedicated care products, since wax and polish can cause shine patches. Keep fuel spills off the film and park in shade where possible. Report lifting edges early so they can be re-fixed.

Frequently asked questions
Will a wrap damage my paint?
On sound original paint, a wrap protects the surface beneath. Poor or repainted surfaces may lift when the film is removed, which is why we inspect first.
Can I change colour without a respray?
Yes. Solid colour-change films are available in many finishes. Check registration requirements for colour changes.
Can you wrap a leased or company vehicle?
Yes, though check your lease or fleet policy, and plan removal at the end of the term.
How long will the vehicle be with you?
It depends on the vehicle and the design. We give a schedule after inspection.
Can you wrap just part of the vehicle?
Yes. See Partial Vehicle Wraps.
