Our signage process
From Enquiry to Installed Sign: How We Work
A good sign is the end of a well-run process, not the start of one. This is how a typical Metal Signage project moves from your first enquiry to an installed, working sign, and where your input matters most.
- Survey before design
- Approvals checked early
- Make and install in-house

1. Enquiry
You tell us what you want and where. The quote builder gathers sign type, location, size ideas and any artwork. At this stage we can give budget direction, but complex illuminated, high-rise or structural work needs assessment first. Any estimate is not binding.
2. Site survey
We visit by appointment across Gauteng to measure, photograph, check the fixing surface, locate power and note access and safety needs. See book a site survey and our technical planning service.
3. Design and mock-up
We turn the survey into proposals: letter sizes for the viewing distance, lighting style, materials and finishes, and a visual mock-up on your actual building. Read about design and mock-ups. Advanced lighting such as colour change or pixel effects is subject to technical assessment and confirmed availability.
4. Approvals
Structural, electrical and municipal matters are checked during the survey and design stage. Depending on the site, consent may be needed from the landlord, body corporate or municipality. We flag these early and supply drawings for submissions, but we cannot promise any approval outcome.
5. Manufacture
Once artwork and quotation are approved, signs are fabricated: metal cut and formed, faces and diffusers fitted, LED modules and power supplies installed, and finishes applied. Materials are explained in materials and finishes.
6. Installation
Installation is arranged by appointment. Our team fixes, wires and tests the sign, working to the access and safety plan agreed at survey. See installation and rigging.
7. Aftercare
Signs need cleaning and the occasional repair. We offer cleaning and maintenance and LED repairs; see also maintenance enquiries.
