Building and Architectural Signage in Metal
Building signage is permanent identity for a facade, entrance or site. This hub covers large-format and architectural signs, freestanding structures and the metal lettering and plaques that finish them.

Types of building signage
Choose by position and scale:
- Facade and roof: large building signs, rooftop signs, high-rise lettering and architectural facade signage.
- Entrance and freestanding: entrance signs, freestanding signs, pylons, totems and monuments.
Metal lettering and plaques
Individual letters can be fabricated in 3D or flat cut in stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper or corten steel. Plaques and panels can be engraved, etched, laser cut or perforated.
Choosing the right approach
Weigh the viewing distance, the wall or structure, and whether the sign should be lit. Heavy or high signs need a structural check, and many need landlord, body corporate or municipal approval; we flag these during the survey. For lit versions see illuminated signage.
Materials
Metals weather differently, and some develop a patina on purpose. Compare them on our materials and finishes page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my wall can carry the sign?
We assess the wall type and fixings during the site survey, and a structural check may be needed for heavy or high signs.
Can building signs be lit?
Yes. See illuminated signage for halo-lit, front-lit and other options.
Which metal is best outdoors?
It depends on the look and setting. Our materials guide compares the options honestly.
