Ideas for your brief

Signage Inspiration Gallery

This gallery is a set of concept illustrations showing the kinds of signs we design, make and install. They are not photographs of completed client work. Use them to find a look, a lighting style or a material you like, then bring it to us as a starting point.

How to use these ideas in your brief

A good brief does not need technical language. It needs a clear picture of what you like and where the sign will live. Here is a simple way to turn inspiration into something we can quote on.

  1. Pick two or three favourites. Note what you like about each: the lighting effect, the depth of the letters, the finish of the metal, the way it sits on the wall.
  2. Name the surface. Face brick, plaster, cladding, glass, a steel structure or a freestanding base all change how a sign is fixed. A phone photo of the wall helps a great deal.
  3. Say when it must be seen. A sign that has to read from a road at night is built differently from a reception logo seen up close.
  4. Share your brand assets. Logo files in vector format, brand colours and any corporate identity rules. See our artwork guidelines.
  5. Tell us your limits. Landlord rules, body-corporate guidelines or a target budget range all help us suggest realistic options early.

Choosing a lighting look

Most inspiration comes down to how a sign is lit. Front-lit letters glow from the face, halo-lit letters wash light onto the wall behind, and dual-lit combines both. Read the comparison in our lighting technology guide or see each style in our front-lit, halo-lit and dual-lit pages. Advanced effects such as colour change or animation are subject to technical assessment and confirmed availability.

Choosing a material look

Brushed stainless reads as precise and corporate, brass and copper add warmth, corten brings a weathered industrial character, and powder-coated aluminium gives you almost any colour. Explore them in materials and finishes.

From idea to quote

When you are ready, use the quote builder and attach your favourite illustrations or any reference images. We will review them at the site survey and suggest what suits the building, the viewing distance and the approvals involved.

Frequently asked questions

Are these photos of your finished projects?

No. They are concept illustrations used to explain sign types and lighting styles. Verified project photographs will be shown on the portfolio page as they are added.

Can you make a sign that looks like one of the illustrations?

Often we can build something in the same spirit. Final design depends on your logo, the wall or structure, viewing distance and approvals, which we check during the survey and design stage.

What should I send if I only have a rough idea?

A photo of the site, your logo and a sentence about when and from where the sign must be seen is enough to start.
