Day and night: one sign, two jobs
A good sign has to work twice. In daylight it is read as metal, finish and form; after dark it is read as light. Designing for both from the start avoids the common problem of a sign that looks sharp at noon and washed out, glaring or patchy at night.
The slider below shows a halo-lit lettering concept: solid metal faces by day, and a soft glow on the wall behind them after dark. Our halo-lit and backlit letters page explains when this style suits a building and when a lit face is the better choice.
Lighting techniques
Front-lit, halo-lit, dual-lit, edge-lit and lightbox signs each put light in a different place, and that changes legibility, mood and maintenance. Use the comparer to see the differences side by side, then read the full explanation on our lighting technology page. Advanced options such as colour-changing, pixel and DMX lighting are subject to technical assessment and confirmed availability.
Signage inspiration
Browse ideas by sign type, material and lighting style. The images in the gallery are concept illustrations to help you form a brief; they are not photographs of completed client work.
Industries and sign families
Different properties need different signage. Start with the family closest to your site:
- Illuminated signage for lit letters, lightboxes, pylons and monuments.
- Building and architectural signage for facades, high-rise lettering and metal lettering.
- Office signage for reception walls, wayfinding and door signs.
- Retail and hospitality signage for shopfronts, malls, restaurants and hotels.
- Petrol station signage for pylons, canopies, price displays and forecourt safety.
- Industrial, government and complex signage for factories, estates and public buildings.
- Vehicle and fleet branding for wraps, lettering and rollouts.
See the industries we serve page for a sector-by-sector view.
Materials that suit the job
Stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, corten steel, acrylic and composite panel all behave differently outdoors, in sunlight and over time. Explore them below and read the honest pros and cons on our materials and finishes page.
Multi-site and fleet rollouts
Branding ten branches or forty vehicles is a coordination job as much as a design job. We plan standards, audit sites and phase the work so every location matches. Read about multi-site branding or our fleet branding and rollouts service.
Repairs and maintenance
Signs need attention over time: failed LEDs, faded faces, loose fixings and dirty lettering. We handle LED signage repairs, signage cleaning and maintenance and removals, whether or not we made the original sign. Start with our maintenance enquiries page.
Completed projects
Verified project photographs and case studies are being added as jobs are documented. Until then we would rather show you nothing than show you something that is not ours. Visit the portfolio page to see what is coming, or ask us to talk through a comparable scope.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom sign cost?
It depends on size, material, lighting, mounting height and approvals, so we do not quote from a price list. Send a brief through the quote builder and we will confirm the scope, usually after a site survey.
Do you handle design as well as manufacture?
Yes. We prepare visuals and mockups so you can see the sign on your building before anything is made. See our design and mockup service.
Which lighting style should I choose?
Front-lit gives maximum face visibility, halo-lit gives a refined glow on the wall, and dual-lit combines both. Our lighting guide explains the trade-offs.
Will I need permission to put up a sign?
Often, yes. Landlords, body corporates and the municipality may need to approve outdoor signs. We check what applies during the survey and design stage, but approval itself is decided by those parties.
Do you install as well?
Yes. We install by appointment across Gauteng, using the survey findings to plan access, rigging and power.
Can you work on signs you did not make?
Yes. We can assess, repair, clean or replace existing signs. See our maintenance page.
Tell us about your building or fleet and we will plan the right sign for it.
Send your brief, quantities and deadline. We reply with a clear written quote and confirm the turnaround before anything goes to production.
